WHAT WE DO
Cam Ymlaen is a Project funded by the E.S.F . / E.R.D.F . Cam Ymlaen was set up to help people with Mental Health problems back into employment and or training. We recognise the huge barriers and obstacles someone who has experienced mental health problems face in doing this and we are totally focused on seeing the individuals strengths and abilities rather than their disability. Following referral clients are offered an initial appointment, usually with John Yates a Director and founder member of Cam Ymlaen, and the client's skills, abilities and any work experience are explored. We can then offer an individually tailored placement on our project, either with one to one support with an employment co-ordinator or on one of our courses, either held at the local college or at our own in-house IT Suite based at our office in Madoc Street , Llandudno
Prevention as always is better than cure. We are currently developing our programme to work with those whose employment may be at risk due to mental ill health. We are holders of the “two tick” disability scheme as reflected by our logo on the bottom of each page on this website. The symbol is a recognition given by Jobcentre Plus to employers who have agreed to make certain positive commitments regarding the employment, retention, training and career development of disabled people. “Mental illness is nothing to be ashamed of,
but stigma and bias shame us all.”
